The content on this website and in The Calm Baby Sleep Guide is provided for educational and informational purposes only. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for the professional judgment of your pediatrician or another qualified healthcare provider. Always seek the advice of your pediatrician with any questions about your baby's health, feeding, breathing, growth, development, or sleep. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you have read here.

Not a medical practice

Calm Baby Sleep is not a medical practice, and its authors are not physicians. Nothing here constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If your baby has any health condition — including reflux, breathing issues, feeding difficulties, or poor weight gain — consult your pediatrician before making any changes to sleep or feeding routines.

Safe sleep

All safe sleep information on this site is based on the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics (2022), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the NICHD Safe to Sleep® campaign. We summarize this guidance for educational purposes; we are not affiliated with or endorsed by these organizations. For the most current recommendations, visit healthychildren.org, cdc.gov, and safetosleep.nichd.nih.gov.

No guaranteed results

Every baby is different. We do not promise or guarantee any specific sleep outcomes, timelines, or results. The strategies described are gentle, realistic approaches that help many families — but no method works for every baby, and normal infant sleep includes night waking.

When to call your pediatrician

Contact your baby's doctor promptly for: breathing concerns of any kind; feeding problems or refusal; reflux causing pain; poor weight gain; fever; unusual sleepiness or difficulty waking; or any change in sleep or behavior that worries you. Trust your instincts — you know your baby. In the U.S., the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline is 1-833-852-6262.
